Feelin' lucky..?
Here's confirmation cabbies have the inside running on making personal contacts. Reader Reg has sent this link concerning Ahmed Ibrahim, a 50 year old New York cabbie of Egyptian descent. Raine runs a casual dating service for his passengers. And very successful he is too, having matched many single passengers with each other,
"New York is a very tough city for dating," Ibrahim mused while driving through the West Village recently. "I have heard a lot of crying in this cab, a lot of fighting and a lot of broken hearts. Sometimes great people were just missing each other by minutes; one would get in my cab just as another had gotten out," he said.
So using their phone numbers Ahmed arranges a blind date. Too easy. Only in America.

Hey, still not the same as that offer of Maccas and TV from a certain Brisbane cabbie.
Wonder if he sets up non-tippers with other cheapskates.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
Catch me a catch...

I think Bangkok cabbies offer a similar service plus snake and ping pong ball show.

Good one Simon, LOL, I'm just reminded of a great post by Caz concerning unemployed television personality (I use the term advisedly) Sami Lukis and ping pong balls.
Which reminds me, I must Blogroll that girl. Caz, not Sami.

Yeah Alice, I've toyed with the idea of late. I've carried some thoroughly decent people who I'm sure I could have hooked up.
Though I'm unsure how confident people would be to entrust me with their contact details.
