Repent !
The Hubble Space Telescope has captured some brilliant images during it's life. Of which this one titled, Eye of God has been doing the email rounds of late. It would appear such images are being used as religious chain-mail, exhorting viewers to pray/wish/expect miracles - if passed on to seven more recipients ! Though the email I received wisely suggested ignoring such pap and just appreciate the beauty of the image.
A quick check with Breakthechain reveals the image is actually a scientific representation only,
However, the image above (enlarges) is not a true "picture" in the technical sense of the word. Rather, it is a computer-generated and enhanced mosaic of nine separate photographs taken by the Hubble telescope and combined with a wider image captured by the National Science Foundation's telescope at Kitt Peak National Optical Astronomy Observatory near Tucson, Arizona. It is a scientific representation of what the nebula might look like.
No matter, this planetary nebula is but one of many brilliant images listed on the NASA Hubble Space Telescope Images Index. Worth a visit.

Excellent photoes Adrian! Every so often these are published in a book available to the public. Also did anyone scroll to the bottom of the page and see what else was there?
