Update
Here's an quick update from last week's post, Animals 2. Charges have been dropped against a Perth cabbie who allegedly sexually assaulted a female passenger on 7/1/07,
In addition to the complainant’s account of events, strong circumstantial evidence was present and the suspect was requested to supply a sample of his DNA for the inquiry. He declined and was given time to consult his lawyer before providing DNA.
He was again requested to supply a DNA sample but refused even after police provided him with a warrant to obtain DNA. He was arrested and charges preferred.
It was later established that the DNA taken from the taxi driver didn’t match the sample taken from the crime scene.
Additionally, an Adelaide cabbie accused of raping and indecently assaulting a female passenger last August has also had charges withdrawn.

It's always good to see innocent guys acquitted. But I'm wondering why the Perth cabbie refused to supply a DNA sample. Sure, he was innocent of *this* crime, but was he concerned that he was guilty of another? In any case, it's my view that refusing to give a sample just puts him further in the frame, wasting Police time while the real criminal gets away.

In a democracy you have the right to refuse tests. I believe communist China does not have that right of refusal. Personally I would not trust the police.... I am from QLD and still remember the Fitzgerald enquiry..... WA Inc.... and other sinister things....... didn't the WA premier go to prison?
Nothing the Police do would surprise me.... WHAT IF THE POLICE USED HIS DNA TO CONVICT HIM???? The police are a dangerous body..... Don't think that the police are any better in this day and age...... JUST MORE CUNNING! (the term shit house rat comes to mind....)
Personally if asked to do anything for the police I would tell them to F@#$@# OFF.
The police are most often an arm of a bad government to collect revenue.
The only thing worse than the police is not having the police!
