Local coffee shop blazes during Earth Hour on Saturday night.
Above is the company headquarters of Fairfax Media, co-instigator of Earth Hour, during the big lights out. The image on the right was taken last Wednesday at 11:24pm. One wonders why they need so many lights and floors operating near midnight. Maybe someone in modern media can enlighten me, or even better, someone from Fairfax ?

DataR, dunno but notice that the car's headlights are on. Strange as it's parked properly, unless the fire caused the lights to activate. Shot at 11:42pm.

Yeah we thought it was a really strange place to torch a car, its quite a public area. Good call on the headlights. Interesting.

I am so glad that someone drove past Fairfax HQ and got some photos. I was sorely tempted to do it myself, just to see whether the silly buggers were practicing what they screech.

fire comms recived call to car fire college st outside st marys at 2335 pump 4(darlinghurst)responded arrived 2341 fire out 2348 just one of 27 car fires in sydney on that night and 1 of 8 call outs pump 4 recieved on that night.

wow Manly Cabbie thats really detailed. I'm surprised at the number of car fires that night, I had no idea they were so common.

i drive cabs part time my real job is firefighter,at the moment i'm stationed at fire comms.
