Records
I'm currently in the process of digitizing hundreds of photos for posterity, such as this image from 1978 in Watson's Bay Park. My son plays on an old tractor thoughtfully installed by Woollahra Council.
Note the unsecured steering wheel, lethal gear stick, rusty parts and jagged edges. The good old days, before insurance ruled the world.

Love the hair mate. Your son would be about my age

I'm sure your son is thrilled at this being on the web. LOL

Ah the good ole days of dangerous (read: fun) playgrounds!!!
Can I ask how you are going about digitizing your old pics? My parents have plenty, and i was hoping one day to do the same - but not sure if theres a good program to do it with or an efficient way to do it.
thanks!

Andy,
What you need to worry about more is getting a good scanner. I would look at getting a Canon one - they're compact and power-efficient, and they come with perfectly good scanning software.

Andy, as recommended by Jono a basic Canon scanner is ideal. I load 4-6 pic per scan then open this file in a photo editing program. Thence cut and paste individual images into a new file. Apply required enhancing edits and save.
Once you get some momentum going you'll be able to create a hundred digital images in a few hours. Recommend you experiment with resolution output on scanning for optimum results.

If I remember correctly my siblings and I had just this kind of play equipment as we grew up, we now span from out mid twenties into our mid forties and we all survived, more importantly though if we took a spill and hurt ourselves then it was simply a valuable lesson learned!
It's always great to see images like this, although it makes me wish the world was just that little bit more normal again. Thanks for sharing Adrian.

..then again.. I still remember my brother loosing half of two fingers as a kid in a set of exposed gears that weren't embolised!

Just love the hair.
And the wearing of a jumper in the sunshine, so quaint & nostaligially NSW-ish.
