Away
Here's one of the more attractive cab ranks around town - Meadowbank Ferry terminal. When I was a kid this part of the Parramatta River was totally toxic, from the nauseating sulphuric odours to the old cars and refrigerators dumped on the river bank.
Currently I'm taking a break up the North Coast for a week or so before spring arrives with it's increased business. In the meantime stand by for some holiday posts. Cheers,

When I was working as an environmental scientist I was cleaning up some of the industry alongside Hombush bay.
We could see it getting cleaner week by week.

adrian you seem to like the north coast, maybe its time for a sea change, and driving a taxi in some of those coastal towns is better money wise and stress wise than taxi driving in sydney take it from me as one who does both.

Nashdale, you've reminded me of an outstanding obligation to the last winner of 'pick the location'. Thanks, I'll be addressing this on return.
Manly Cabbie, sounds ideal. Don't know about some small rural towns but I hear the Gold Coast is particularly lucrative for cabs.

aah, those sulphuric fumes remind me of the year I spent at Meadowbank Tafe in the 70's. Funny how a smell brings back memories (or vice versa).
But then we used to swim in Hen and Chicken Bay in the 60's too. And eat fish and crabs out of there.
I'll raise that, I also had a job disposing of radioactive and biohazard waste at the 'jeans for genes' labs (Wonderful people). Used to carry a Geiger-counter (newsflash - background radiation is all around and higher some days - from the sun).
Enjoy your hols, Adrian!
