Thanks

On_the_jobToday is my fifth anniversary of blogging and time for an overdue break until 2009, sometime. In short, I'm pretty buggered and need a full creative recharge.

So a Happy Festive Season to all my readers and many thanks for your support over the years. You've made blogging worthwhile and a big motivation to keep going for so long. Much appreciated,

Adrian

UPDATE: Numero uno!

Enjoy ya time Adrian and thanks for the read.
CYA at the other end of your break.

Have a relaxing break Adrian.

I enjoy reading your posts and look forward to reading more from you next year.

All the best mate

Enjoy the vacation Adrian, look forward to your return.Best regards,
KONYH

Thanks Adrian for another informative and interesting year on Jafablog. Thank you for getting the cabbies point of view across, you do more for the public relation of the Taxi industry then the people in charge have ever done. I thank you for that and wish you a happy Xmas and a prosperous 2009.

I join with the other regular readers here in wishing you a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year, Adrian.

Enjoy your break, may the fish be plentiful and the beer cold.

And a much deserved break it is too ! Yours is the only blog I read regularly -you keep me in touch with the mighty City of Sydney while I'm away, stuck in purgatory (aka Adelaide..)

I catch cabs regularly around Broadway, Newtown, right through Surry Hills to KX when I'm back, so if the fates decree it, you may get me as a passenger, you lucky man you..

Anyways, thanks for the best blog on the net, Adrian, and have a Happy Holidays and New Year !

God I'm homesick..

Goldstein..

Have a great Christams and enjoy the break, see you in the new years.

As a review said "hilarious, depressing, monotonous, uplifting", but ultimately providing insight into the human condition. Greatly enjoy your blog ........... have an enjoyable Christmas break !

Merry Christmas Adrian... Enjoy the break.

Wash your mouth out Goldstein. Adelaide is not purgatory, you just need an Adrian to explain to you how the city ticks ;-)

God bless you Adrian. We hope to see you again in the new year, renewed and refreshed .

Congrats, Adrian! Love your blog, enjoy your break.

You're a champion - keep rockin' it
always a reader --art

G'day Adrian, all the best for the festive season; hope ya make a good quid!

I'm a bit late posting but I've been laid up for a bit... secret men's business :-) hospitals, scapels, family jewels etc :-( but all good now!

Happy everything to you and yours... see ya next year.

Congrats Adrian - Keep up the exceptional work!

Thanks Adrian, and congratulations on the anniversary. I look forward to your return :)

Yay top listing!

What's with "the Festive Season" bullshit?

Next, you'll be channelling Festivus and Kwanzaa.

Have you gone PC?

It's Christmas no matter which way you try to slice it, pigeon hole it, apologise for it, whatever.

Have a good Christmas yourself Adrian. XXOOXX

Re: Pogria..

The term "Festive Season" encompasses not only the holy days celebrated by Christians, but also the Jewish Festival of Lights -Hanukkah, which starts tonight, the Islamic New Year, Hindu festivals in January, etc etc..

Why is it "PC" to acknowledge that much/most of the world isn't Christian ? Recognising that not all his readers (like me for instance) are not Christians ?

Adrian is merely being inclusive, worldly. As opposed to ignorant.

Greetings from the taxi world of New York City.
Enjoy your break. I look forward to your future posts. Click on my blog if you need something to read during your time off.

Merry Christmas Uncle Ade. Might see you around Port.
xx

Merry Christmas and happy new year. Hope that you come back fully recharged.

LE

been over a month now adrian are you still out there hacking, done only 3 shift in sydney since xmas hardly worth the effort hope its not a sign of thing to come.

Hey MC, nice to hear from you. I’ve just arrived home after spending the last three hours working in your territory as the City was absolutely hopeless. Yep, currently work is a real disaster but that's January. However we can claw back some moola next weekend.

At the moment I have February pencilled in for a return to blogging and hoping to introduce some major changes to the site. That's the plan at least whilst I also take care of some pressing personal necessities.

Stay tuned, folks.

Good Stuff :D

Note for 2009 : Get wireless Internet, take laptop to work, write blog whilst sitting on rank. You may not make any money but keep us entertained, a worthwhile job. But that's 2009 for you. :0)

Quick question Adrian (and other cab driving folk) why do I have to pay the H. bridge toll going both ways over the bridge when it doesn't cost the cabbie any money to go south?

AND, with the new Time of Day tolling, has that been incorporated into the fare system yet?

Datareceptionist, it's the north bound journey which is free with payment required on the southbound trip.

This toll was brought in to compensate drivers carrying passengers to the North Shore due to there being no free alternative for returning to the City and the vast majority of work.

The toll was recently requested for removal by a tourist body at the Taxi Pricing Tribunal but after review the toll was upheld.

I've yet to see the new structure for the so-called congestion toll but you can count on it being added to the fare. I think it starts next week.

Whoops I'm all mixed up, you're right.

I guess what annoys me is if I pay for that toll, get out of the cab, and the cabbie jags another fare to go back over the bridge, won't it also be added to their fare? I don't understand why I should be paying for the to return to the city when I'm not in the cab! (i'm only slightly annoyed about this, but mostly interested in your take on it as a cabbie, no offence to you in the subject matter please)

Adrian, simple piece of advice:

As soon as you feel you MUST write an entry for this blog, then its time for a break.

When you feel you WANT to write something, then its time to start up again.

That way we'll enjoy it more, and you'll enjoy it more. Til then we don't mind waiting:)

Sorry to bother you can you pass this on to Acid Comments on tbr.cc.... (deleted)

Helene, sorry but you'll have to take this up with the tbr.cc administrator. Adrian.

Andy, an apt suggestion and one I've employed during this sabbitical.

However just when I'm ready to post an important personal topic I'm offline for two more weeks due to Bigpond cable 'system issues', arising from my moving house. This subject will be expanded upon at a later date after my frustration subsides.

In the meantime I'm hoping to post the aforementioned topic using a borrowed connection in the coming week.

Pogria.

You're a slag.

Aahhh,'scuse me........

WT ?

The comment allegedly posted by me on Feb 9, 2009 11:20:02 PM wasnt by me, just someone else using the same name.

I'm hoping Adrian can vouch for me by comparing emails.

Thanks

Andy
